Shosholoza Meyl train derailed in the afternoon on the 20 of June 2015, between Park Central and Park Station but no casualties have been confirmed yet.
It is alleged that the train was coming from Dooronfontein station side, approaching park station when the incident happened.
The cause of the collision is not yet known. Efforts by JCT to get comment from PRASA were fruitless.
Shosholoza Meyl is a division of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) that operates long-distance passenger rail services. It operates various train routes across South Africa. Shosholozaa Meyl was a division of Spoornet, but it was transferred after the formation of PRASA.
